Atrium Outdoor
Atrium Outdoor is an upholstery textile suitable for both outdoor and indoor use. The textile has a plain base with a subtly vivid pattern. Unusually for a technical weatherproof textile, it is made with a highly durable specially developed Trevira CS yarn and stands out for its very soft hand. Free from fluorocarbons, Atrium Outdoor is flame-retardant with an environmentally focused finish. The textile also provides resistance against chlorine, seawater, and artificial weathering. Atrium Outdoor combines two similarly coloured yarns with a contrasting yarn which infuses the textile with distinctive depth and a subtle sense of wave-like movement in the foreground. The background resembles a faux uni. The palette, the result of extensive research into colour expression, comprises neutral yet distinctively characterful warm shades.
Autumn
Autumn is an upholstery textile woven from 100% recycled polyester. It comes in a nuanced colour palette designed by Teruhiro Yanagihara, inspired by the transient nature of the ‘ageing season’. The textile is constructed with a recycled polyester yarn made from used plastic bottles and woven in a layered double-beam weave. This composition gives Autumn a soft, natural hand and allows it to be continuously recycled with no degradation in quality. A dark, unicoloured background is used across Autumn’s colour palette, and offers a rich contrast to the melange top layer, which features yarns created from a mix of two fibre-dyed colours. The scale comprises a selection of neutrals including a white melange, papery beige notes and greys, and characterful reds, blues, and oranges, alongside a lively black shade.
Encircle
Encircle is a sculptural upholstery textile with a tactile, meticulous expression. It explores the delicate irregularities of natural surfaces and is inspired by the crafts, traditions and landscapes of Grand-Bassam, Côte d’Ivoire. Complex yet simple, Encircle unites a naturally irregular bouclé yarn and a plain-dyed background yarn. This construction plays with transparencies and gives the upholstery an intriguing look: intricate irregular circles appear to pop out of its surface. Like leaves, each one has an individual form. The colour-scale for Encircle references the vibrant colours found in West Africa.
Field 2
Field 2 is an upholstery textile characterised by intriguing colour combinations and an intricate chequered pattern. Originally inspired by the classic Kvadrat textile Hallingdal 65, it comes in an updated palette that offers 22 new colourways. Field 2 showcases designer Alfredo Häberli’s exceptional talent for creating vibrant, surprising combinations of unicoloured yarns. It is woven with double weft and warp threads in different colours. Due to the nature of man-made fibres, it is difficult to create complex, melange blends within the yarn. However, Alfredo Häberli has overcome this challenge with Field 2 by uniting unexpected, graceful tones for each colourway. For instance, mint with dusty pink and earthen brown with electric blue. The expression of Field 2 is elegant yet dynamic. Initially, the fabric appears uniform, but get closer and intriguing details and intricate blocks of colour begin to emerge from its surface to eye-catching effect.
Memory 2
Memory 2 is an upholstery fabric with a tactile, resilient, and irregular expression. It comes in a versatile palette of 20 colourways, 13 of which are new. Memory has a ‘digital’ look and is constructed with bouclé yarns that play across its surface. In the areas where these yarns are less dense, the background layer of the fabric emerges. The subtle irregularities this creates capture the air of a beautifully aged material. Made from Trevira CS, Memory offers several advantages, including flame retardancy, durability, breathability, and hypoallergenic yarns.
Patio Outdoor
Patio Outdoor is an upholstery textile developed for outdoors, which offers exceptional colour vibrancy. Designed by Karina Nielsen Rios, it is made with a highly durable, specially developed Trevira CS yarn. A result of 3 years intensive research, Patio Outdoor features a fluorocarbon-free, environmentally-focused finish, which is water-repellent and fast-drying. It also provides resistance against chlorine, seawater and artificial weathering and is flame-retardant. In addition to its technical features, it also stands out for a soft touch compared to other outdoor fabrics. Patio Outdoor has a subtle structure, which combines two coloured yarns in the warp and one in the weft. Depending on the level of contrast between the colours, Patio Outdoor appears either almost unicoloured or more textured. Its versatile palette brings a fresh, sporty perspective on colours to outdoors textiles. It combines natural and neutral nuances, as well as bold highlight tones.
Reflect
Reflect is a sophisticated twill weave upholstery textile made from recycled polyester, with a natural expression and a particularly tactile touch. Unusually for a textile crafted from recycled fibres, Reflect has a particularly delicate and soft hand. Made from recycled polyester, it offers excellent functional performance, as well as a full scale of vibrant colours. Reflect is a ‘faux-uni’: initially, it appears monochromatic but, under closer inspection, reveals a dense diagonal weave which combines two different colours. Its twill woven construction subtly references the world of fashion and captures a sense of movement. Intriguingly, Reflect’s look changes depending on the light, colourway and angle of the viewer: the stripe-like lines that play across its surface appears to switch between horizontal, vertical and diagonal. The versatile palette for Reflect comprises 35 colourways and expresses confident colour combinations by matching warm notes with closely related nuances.
Revive
Revive 1 is a vibrant upholstery textile designed by Georgina Wright. Made from post-consumer recycled polyester (PET), it is especially created with a focus to reduce the environmental impact both in production and natural resources. The design of Revive 1 is inspired by the textures, colours and materials of harbours and fishing boats. It comprises two unicolours, one in the warp and one in the weft. These are either tone-in-tone or slightly contrasting.
Sone
Sone is a unicoloured upholstery textile featuring a subtle graphic design with intersecting fields of linear textures. It is part of a textile collection that interprets designer Ronan Bouroullec’s iconic drawings. The contrast of the different multidirectional pattern play across Sone’s surface, and which gives a pronounced tactility and depth, with the structure of the pattern emerging from changes in the direction of the lines. In this way, Sone captures the sense of the textural zones and movement that represents Ronan Bouroullec’s artworks. The expression of the textile takes further inspiration from landscapes, as if looking down on fields from plane flying above.
Sport
Sport is an upholstery textile by Patricia Urquiola which unites a vibrant, high-tech contemporary expression with a compelling sustainability story. It is the world’s first recycled polyester upholstery textile made from 100% ocean-bound plastic waste. Unlike conventional polyester textiles, which are traditionally flat, Sport has a sophisticated binding that adds tactile multidimensionality to its structure. Tiny graphic floral forms play across its surface, infusing the upholstery with a characterful, intricate expression. Sport also offers exceptional colour richness. It derives its signature colour depth from the three different coloured yarns used in its construction. The design comes in a versatile selection of colourways incorporating a scale of rich, warm, and cold accents and neutral notes. These hues give the textile a bold look and enhance the qualities of the ocean-bound polyester. Importantly, Sport is made exclusively from recycled polyester, from 100% ocean-bound plastic waste. The post-consumer plastic used to manufacture the material is collected no further than 10 km away from coastlines and on remote islands in Thailand, where better waste management infrastructure is needed.
Still
Still is a natural-looking, exceptionally soft Chenille upholstery textile. Dynamic yet understated, it is inspired by the Still-life paintings of British artist Ivon Hitchens. Constructed from Chenille yarn, Still has a striated expression that runs in the direction of the weft. It also features a subtle matt sheen and the dry-hand feel typically associated with cotton, despite being crafted from man-made fibres. The palette for Still unites elegant dusty tones, refined neutrals and highlight notes, such as vermillion and peachy orange. Georgina Wright created these hues after studying the paintings of Ivon Hitchens.
